Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are both interested in acquiring the signature of the 22-year-old French midfielder.

Over recent years, football, in general, has witnessed several modifications regarding how a club is run to how different players are suited to different managerial philosophies. The evolution of data science has proved to be a game-changer in that respect.

It has helped massively in shaping a club’s transfer policy as well as their recruitment procedure. Nowadays, clubs not only depend on the notes of their well-skilled scouts but also ensure that the advanced stas are firmly in support of what they are looking for. As the saying goes, numbers don’t lie.

Utilizing this hypothesis, several European clubs have managed to sign some talented prospects from all over the world for transfer fees which have turned out to be bargains in hindsight. Having recently signed some prosperous prodigies, Manchester United are believed to have done particularly well in this department.

If asked for examples, the summer signings of Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo Traore top the list. Considering how the majority of United fans reacted to the idea of signing the aforementioned names, there is the possibility that the Red Devils could try to pull off a deal of the same kind in January.

As reported by the French outlet Le10sport, Manchester United are keeping tabs on 22-year-old Brest star, Romain Faivre.

The report claims that their interest in the canny dribbler is matched by the Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. Furthermore, several other European clubs have also expressed their desire to sign the promising talent.

If stats provided by Whoscored.com are something to gaze upon, Faivre has played in six different positions for the 11th-placed Ligue 1 side this season. From 19 appearances, the Frenchman has recorded four goals – two while playing as right-midfielder – and three assists -two while playing as a left-midfielder – in total.

Even though Faivre’s current contract at Brest runs till June 2024, dreams of leaving for a bigger and more renowned club might lure him away from French side.

Manchester United were in a dire need of a right-winger/right-midfielder last summer. The end to their Jadon Sancho pursuit propelled them to secure the services of Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo Traore. Whether they involve themselves in another unanticipated deal remains to be seen though.
