Bayern Munich star responds to Manchester United transfer interest
By Akash Dutta
The Bayern Munich star breaks silence regarding Manchester United’s reported interest in signing him in the summer.
Manchester United wanted to get their hands on Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman in the previous summer window, although it is believed that the Frenchman was only considered as a fall-back option behind their transfer priority Jordan Sancho.
Neither of those deals ended up going through though as the Red Devils closed their summer transfer window with four deadline signings including two wingers in the form of Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, although both of them are yet to make a first-team appearance.
United were considering the Bayern Munich winger as a loan option, who despite scoring in the Champions League final, was not a first-team regular for the Bavarian side. This season, the Frenchman has scored 5 goals in 15 appearances and also provided 9 assists.
Coman is happy that he was considered as a potential option by a club the size of Manchester United but the 24-year-old has clearly stated that he has no plans of moving and is strictly focused on building his career at Bayern Munich, at least for the time being. As reported by Manchester Evening News, he said:
"“Knowing that good teams are interested in me is good, it gives me extra confidence. But I have a contract here until 2023, I only think about Bayern. It’s all good, I’m happy.”"

Bayern Munich have the Frenchman tied down till 2023 and do not appear to have intention of letting him leave either. As a result, they have publicly announced that Coman is not on sale.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said:
"“Kingsley is an absolute top player today, and is extremely valuable for Bayern. He often makes the difference, just when it counts the most. Kingsley is not for sale.”"
At the start of the season, it had seemed like United’s failure in signing Jadon Sancho might be a hard pill to swallow but now it looks like they are just fine without him as well. The Red Devils are in prime position right now to reach the top of the Premier League table if they manage to beat Burnley in mid-week, leaping above Liverpool as a result.
