Manchester United are ready to let four players leave in the January transfer window as they prepare to mount a title challenge.

Manchester United have been phenomenal in their last few games and with a 2-1 win against Aston Villa on Saturday, the Red Devils went level with Liverpool at the top of the table on 33 points, although Jurgen Klopp’s side are ahead on goal difference.

With the win against Aston Villa, United once again managed to pull off another lengthy win streak under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management similar to that of the previous season. Their 6-1 loss against Tottenham Hotspur now seems like a distant memory and it is quite impressive what they pulled off in such a short period of time.

There is no doubt that Solskjaer managed to sign in quite a few young talents in the summer like Donny Van de Beek and Amad Diallo, who is set to make his arrival at the club this month. But with the January transfer window now open it might be time to freshen up the squad, this time by letting a few players leave.

As reports from the Express claim, he is ready to part ways with four players – Sergio Romero, Marcus Rojo, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard.

Romero is pretty much surplus to requirements right now with Dean Henderson now playing the role of the backup goalkeeper to David de Gea. The Argentine’s time at United may well be considered over.

The same goes for Jones as well as Lingard, who have hardly been offered any time on the pitch this season. Rojo has already been out of the first-team picture for quite a while now and it might be time for him to finally make his exit from the club.

With rumours still lingering about a potential Jadon Sancho move in the near future, the Red Devils are ready to cut ties with some of their players in order to make space in their squad. One would think that they also have an eye on reducing their wage bill.
