Ahead of the January transfer window, a host of European clubs have shown the willingness to sign the wantaway Manchester United star.

Manchester United were one man short going into the game against Everton a fortnight back. It was the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Goodison Park. Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s knock prevented him from making the starting eleven in front of the vigorous two thousand spectators lucky enough to be present.

There was a need for someone to step up and fill the shoes of the Englishman. Quite shockingly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned towards Axel Tuanzebe to replace the former Crystal Palace man, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah had to do with warming the substitutes bench.

Despite the quarter-final win, the need for a natural right-back remained intact for the subsequent game against Leicester City in the Premier League. But, this time, Victor Lindelof was the chosen one to fill in the spot.

It was sixty-six minutes into the game when Lindelof was forced off the pitch and was substituted off by Axel Tuanzebe. Fosu-Mensah didn’t even make the squad this time around, as his future at the club gets more uncertain by the minute.

Fosu-Mensah’s contract at United is set to run out in June 2021. As reported earlier, Manchester United offered a brand new contract extension to Dutchman, intending to tie down his long-term stay at the club. But by the look of the current circumstances, he might be edging towards leaving the club.

A report from Mail Sport understands that the 22-year old is weighing up a switch away from Old Trafford. As such, he will reject the new contract renewal offer from the Red Devils.

Fosu-Mensah has entered the last six months of his current contract. Failing to cut Solskjaer’s eleven regularly, he has made only three appearances across all competitions this season.

Signed from Ajax in 2014, the Manchester United academy graduate is free to conduct talks with potential suitors in the January.

Marseille, AS Monaco and Hertha Berlin have joined the unknown Premier League clubs into the fray for the wantaway United star. Over the last few years, the defender has spent some time on loan at Fulham and Crystal Palace, making 30 senior appearances for Manchester United to date.

Should a switch not happen in January for Fosu-Mensah, he would likely be leaving for free next summer.
