Paul Pogba’s recent comments might have worried Manchester United officials but Jose Mourinho predicted it a long time ago.

Paul Pogba has been in the transfer rumour headlines for years now. He had been linked with a potential free move to Real Madrid next summer but Manchester United extended the Frenchman’s contract till 2022, shutting down those talks for the time being.

Although recently, Pogba has been seen warming the benches most of the time after under-performing since the start of the season. As a result, rumours have resurfaced that the Spanish Giants still value the midfielder and are willing to take the opportunity to land him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Pogba has also added fuel to fire by claiming that he feels more comfortable playing with his national team rather than United. This was a clear indication that he might very well be onboard with the idea of a move to La Liga and is just waiting for the opportunity to present itself.

As reported by the Express, Pogba openly explained that life at the France national team is better than that at Old Trafford:

"“[Playing with France] it’s like a window that opens up.“It’s a breath of fresh air when you come here. We have a truly fantastic squad. When we come here, we’re all happy.“We’re all pleased to see one another. We really enjoy ourselves on the pitch.“That doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy ourselves at club level, but it’s not the same here. We’re a real family, and we have so much fun when we come here.”"

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’ s comments right after France won the World Cup have now resurfaced and it looks like the Special One was right all along. He clearly mentioned that the World Cup is a much more suitable ground for the Frenchman and he is not suited for playing at unknown grounds. Mourinho’s remarks about Pogba were as follows as reported by Sport Bible:

"“I think the World Cup is the perfect habitat for a player like him to give [their] best.“Why? Because it’s closed for a month, where he can only think about football.“Where he’s with his team on the training camp, completely isolated from the external world, where they focus just on football, where the dimensions of the game can only motivate.“During a season, you can have a big match then a smaller match, then one even smaller, then you can lose your focus, you can lose your concentration, then comes a big match again.”"

It will be interesting to see how Pogba performs after the international break – whether he steps up his game or is happy enough to bide his time till he gets a move away from the club.
