The Manchester United star is still needed as his agent believes he could be the solution to their problems at the back.

Manchester United this year extended the contract of their centre-back Eric Bailly till 2022, although many believe that the Ivorian’s days at Old Trafford are numbered. It is clear that the defender has spent most of his days injured, which has caused the officials at the club to consider a possible move in his future.

In 2019/20 season, Bailly made only 11 appearances for the club as he continued to struggle with injury issues. A similar situation was also occurred this season where the 26-year old has missed most of the first half of the season with a severe injury.

Claims were made that the Ivory Coast International was offered to AC Milan in the summer transfer window, but the offer was not accepted by the Italian giants and Bailly remained at United.

Although Promoesport’s head Graziano Battistini, has claimed that the 26-year old could be a potential solution to United’s worries at the back and has stated that his move to the Italian Club may have a logic but the Red Devils might be better of holding on to the Ivory Coast international for the time being. He believes that given the right opportunities, Bailly could be a very promising asset to the club.

According to Sports Witness, Graziano made his points clear, saying:

"“The boy is in an important context such as that of United, before evaluating an exit there must be absolutely valid situations.“The Milan idea may have a logic, but we need to evaluate many implications, today we are talking about nothing.“If he has the right chances, for me he can be an important player to solve some problems of the team. If all this does not happen, it is clear that the situation will need to be assessed, but now it is too early to say certain things.“My Spanish partners who manage him are cautious in all respects, but the boy is very focused on Manchester United.”"

It might be true that Bailly can deliver when it is needed but the problem still lies in the fact that he remains a liability for the club as a result of being injured for most of the season. Him being unavailable cuts down Manchester United’s options at the back as well. And it might be only be a matter of time before they decide to cut their losses and move the Ivorian on.
