Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.
The transfer proceedings are expected to accelerate now with football commitments paused until the 2020/21 campaign kicks off in September. As the first-team squad recuperate their energy levels, Manchester United bosses are bestowed with responsibilities of investing with a few quality additions in the coming few weeks.
Whenever there is a discussion on Manchester United transfers, Jadon Sancho’s name crops up invariably. Such has been the interest that the English prodigy is prioritised over any other signings, despite a need for quality acquisition in multiple areas.
Priced at 120 million euros, Manchester United are willing to match the demands in an amortised structure, contrary to Borussia Dortmund’s wishes of receiving the funds in an upfront payment, barring any add-ons.

Man United chiefs have found the terms unreasonable, considering the economic status quo. The Reds’ hierarchy has also expressed its bemusement at Dortmund’s negotiation held via intermediaries. Ed Woodward is unwilling to sanction funds above £70m for a single signing this summer.
Since the passage of August 10 “deadline” set by Dortmund to present an offer for Sancho, there have been numerous briefs and stories from the German end suggesting that the potential deal with Manchester United is no more possible.
Despite a minor setback, Man United bosses are determined to revive the dialogues and push the deal over the finishing line.
Recently, as per doyen of transfers Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund have communicated their needs to let Jadon Sancho join Manchester United. The German team is adamant of their €120m tag and want a majority of the payment in the upfront transaction, contrasting to United’s offer for breaking up the payment in the form of incentives and instalments.
As things stand, there has been no concrete outcome of the ongoing dialogues between the factions, but the proceedings could gather pace with the eagerness of Man United to attain one of Europe’s brightest prospect.
Meanwhile, developments suggest that the Reds are working on other prospective transfer, too. As per Sport Witness, AFC Bournemouth’s David Brooks arrival at the Old Trafford has emerged as a serious possibility, owing to substantial groundwork being laid during confidential talks with the Cherries’ bosses.
Brooks would be a quality addition to the Manchester United squad which lacks the optimum depth to shuffle the starting eleven. With the need for spending the money wisely in the post-pandemic market, the Welsh prospect could be an astute piece of business which provides an instant upgrade on Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard.
The Cherries are demanding around £40million to allow David Brooks to join Manchester United this summer, as per the Manchester Evening News.
