Manchester United could still sign world class striker
By Bence Bocsak
Despite missing out on a January transfer for the world class striker Manchester United could still end up signing him in the future.
The return of a former prodigy to save the man who gave him his first break in the industry. It seemed written in the stars. Like a Hollywood movie come to life. A true fairy tale. Manchester United fans and the entire media were convinced it was going to happen. The club was in a frenzy. Erling Braut Haaland’s arrival at Old Trafford seemed imminent.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the man who first gave Erling Haaland his debut whilst the pair of them were at Molde together. Haaland was only 16 years old at the time but Solskjaer recognised his talent and he trusted the young man to deliver.
The pair are purported to have a good rapport. They are fellow compatriots. United were desperate for a striker. Haaland had been a prolific goalscorer at Red Bull Salzburg. One can see why when Erling Haaland was on the cusp of making a decision about which club to sign for, the Red Devils seemed like an obvious choice.

It would have been the perfect blend of a familiar setting but also a new challenge and a step-up from the Austrian side.
Nonetheless for one reason or another, Haaland opted to join Borussia Dortmund instead and United were left desperately searching for another striker to recruit.
They ended up choosing the temporary solution of Odion Ighalo.
However according to reports despite missing out on Haaland, the Norwegian forward might stil one day sign for United in the future.
According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solvekhol via the Daily Mirror Haaland’s agent’s plan ‘was always for him to move to the Bundesliga last month’ but however he also stated that ‘Haaland will play in the Premier League one day.’
Which therefore still opens up the possibility of Haaland joining United in the future. That will give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer some hope in his quest to return the Red Devils back to where they belong.
Haaland could be the perfect fit for the Red Devils and a striker of his quality would always be welcome at Old Trafford.
