Manchester United: Huge twist in Erling Haaland deal

There has been a major twist in Manchester United and their ambitions to bring Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland to Old Trafford.

The old adage goes that sometimes things are not meant to be. No matter how hard one tries, how desperate they are and how much time they put into it, sometimes things just don’t quite work out. Manchester United and their pursuit of Erling Braut Haaland may just be one of those cases.

On paper Old Trafford seemed like the the perfect destination for Erling Haaland. After all it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who made Haaland’s phoenix rise from the ashes of his father’s legacy who was also a footballer, when the Norwegian was handed his debut as a 17 year old for Molde. Solskjaer was crucial in honing Haaland’s skills and giving the youngster the advice and the skills he needed to take his game to another level.

At Molde, Erling Haaland was a sensation and him and Solskjaer seemed to have the perfect partnership. It seemed only right that now with Haaland’s status massively rising since he made his move to Red Bull Salzburg that he would return to his former master so that Solskjaer can guide his career in the right direction once more.

Unfortunately however despite Manchester United’s best efforts, that no longer seems to be the case. According to the Italian outlet Tuttosport via the Daily Mail it is Juventus who have come out on trumps and agreed a deal with Erling Haaland over Manchester United.

That will be a major disappointment for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is desperate to take Manchester United back to where they belong and has been seeking out a striker for the Red Devils for quite some time. Erling Haaland seemed to fit the bill perfectly and there was also the added factor that Solskjaer is very familiar with him with Haaland being a fellow countryman.

Yet now Manchester United will have to target someone else and reassess their options for the upcoming transfer window.
