Manchester United: What to expect on transfer deadline day
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United could yet conduct more deals in the January transfer window with their pursuit of a striker still ongoing. Here’s what to expect.
It is that time of the year. What football fan doesn’t love transfer deadline day? Twenty four hours in front of the television. Major twists. Late moves, managers being interviewed from their cars, players turning up at the wrong grounds. The drama. The chaos. It is utterly entertaining to watch. Especially when your team is at the thick of it. Manchester United have made a late surge in the transfer market and they could still be involved on the final day.
In the last couple of days Manchester United have completed the signing of Bruno Fernandes who will now come in to fix the midfield crisis at the club. With his addition the Red Devils could finally have a menacing midfield. Whilst Nathan Bishop, a 20 year old goalkeeper from Southend has also made his arrival at Old Trafford.
However it seems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still not satisfied with the club’s business. The Norwegian wants to add more firepower upfront according to the Bleacherreport and the site reports that he declared he wants to sign a striker ‘who wants to break their nose’ to score a goal.

With that being said, United do not have a lot of time to bring in reinforcements and of course a lot of clubs would be reluctant to sell their top assets which means the Red Devils have been forced to search for hidden gems.
According to the Telegraph via the Daily Express the Red Devils have been offered three players to pursue.
Paris Saint Germain’s forward Edinson Cavani. Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Leicester City frontman Islam Slimani.
Of course the name that stands out is the Uruguayan Cavani who would be an exciting addition at Old Trafford and definitely the one which would make the most financial sense.
According to Sky Sports the Red Devils have also had a ‘bid rejected’ for one of their former players and current Bournemouth star Josh King.
Time is ticking for Ed Woodward and co but it seems United plan to be busy during the final hours.
What do you think will Manchester United sign anyone on deadline day?
