Manchester United finally land first signing of January transfer window

Manchester United are at last on the brink of completing a deal for their first signing of the January transfer window and will bring him to Old Trafford.
January has been undoubtedly one of the most turbulent months of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign at Manchester United since the Norwegian took over from Jose Mourinho.
The club have faced an extended period of hardship both on and off the field. The toil has been immense and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemed to crack under the pressure.
From unfortunate injuries with stars players being ruled out for extensive periods to embarrassing results and successive defeats to rivals Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City. It was topped off with a defeat to Burnley at Old Trafford to make things worse.
United’s main issue both on and off the field has been their lack of midfield depth. The Red Devils’ midfield has often looked devoid of life and movement. They are shapeless and have no creativity in the final third when faced with deep lying and rigid defences.
United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been desperate to amend the situation. The January transfer window has offered up the perfect opportunity for them to do so, yet however up until the last couple of days the Red Devils botched every single one of their attempts.
It has been no secret that United’s number one target has been the Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting.
His numbers and style of play would be the perfect fit for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils.
And it seems after weeks and weeks of negotiations United may have at last landed their man.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio on Twitter via OneFootball Manchester United have finally agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon and Bruno Fernandes will now travel to have a medical in England.
The news should be exciting for every United fan. Bruno Fernandes could have the potential to completely transform the club’s fortunes around.
