Manchester United: Another huge twist in Bruno Fernandes deal

Despite the deal seeming to have fallen through Manchester United have been given a huge boost to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer let out a huge sigh upon the final whistle against Burnley on Wednesday night. He had just seen his team outclassed at Old Trafford by a side who are constantly hovering in mid-table. It was a dismal performance and Solskjaer had every right to be frustrated. His time at Manchester United has been full of disappointments. Ebbs and flows, but mainly ebbs.

The Red Devils are struggling to get back to where they belong. Doubts are seeping in whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could truly be the man to lead them back to the top.

The January transfer window has been especially shambolic for the club. It has seen targets slip away from the Red Devils’ grasp time and time again.

One of the continuous sagas since the beginning of the window has been the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting.

With Manchester United’s midfield lacking flair and often the ability to unlock deep lying defences Bruno Fernandes‘ creativity would be an excellent addition at Old Trafford. The Portuguese playmaker has racked up some impressive numbers whilst at Sporting and is the chief midfield creator at the club.

Negotiations for Bruno Fernandes’ services however have stalled and stalled. The Red Devils have been in continuous talks with Sporting for several weeks now with no conclusion.

Chances of the club bringing Bruno Fernandes to Old Trafford seem to be slimming with every passing day and the clock is ticking. There is now less than a week till the end of the transfer window.

Yet however it seems the deal is not entirely unlikely. According to Duncan Castles speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast via the Daily Express Bruno Fernandes has been ‘problematic’ at Sporting in an attempt to push a deal through to Manchester United.

With Bruno Fernandes so keen, the Sporting chiefs might just be convinced to let him go if United of course decide to reenter negotiations with the club.

Bruno Fernandes could be the addition to help the Red Devils climb the table for the final part of the season and retain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job. The club should do everything they can to sign him.
