Manchester United to sign Premier League star from rivals

The Manchester United board seem to have targeted a Premier League player from one of the club’s rivals to replace Marcus Rashford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has huffed and puffed since he has taken charge at Manchester United. The club’s former player is doing everything he can to take the Red Devils back to where they belong. Yet he has been thwarted in his efforts by an inept board and hapless injuries which seem to mount and mount perpetually.

The Norwegian boss just seems to have no fortune. The Red Devils are on a desperate downward spiral and no one seems to be able to prevent it.

The club’s turmoil has been ramped up by the recent injury crisis, especially the devastating loss of Marcus Rashford who has been Manchester United’s top performer this season. Now the Red Devils will have to make do without him.

And with very little time left in the January transfer window the club are in a hunt for a striker who can replace Marcus Rashford on a short term basis.

There have been numerous candidates who have been linked with the club as potential replacements. One of which was the PSG frontman Edinson Cavani, however it seems that according to the latest speculation the Uruguayan will only be available in the summer.

That has left the club with scant options. The January transfer window is notoriously a difficult time to conduct business. Clubs are reluctant to let their players go.

The latest player who has been linked with the Red Devils is the Leicester City forward Islam Slimani. According to the Guardian the Red Devils are ‘weighing’ up a loan move for the Algerian forward.

The 31 year old has currently been on loan at AS Monaco this season and he has been in hot form scoring 7 Ligue One goals in 13 games for the French outfit.

Of course United will face a huge stumbling block in their attempts as Leicester City will surely be reluctant to strengthen one of their  rivals.
