Manchester United: Solskjaer could finally land world class striker

It seems the Manchester United boss could finally be on the brink of bringing the world class striker to Old Trafford even as early as January.

At Old Trafford around the stands, in the boardroom and on the pitch the state of the club is in turmoil. Manchester United are not the powerhouse they once were. They are fallen giants who have fallen down the ladder and their form and status has dwindled over the years.

No longer are the Red Devils feared like they once were. They are a club who have fallen on hard times. Even since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to retire from the game, Manchester United have lost their touch.

In Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who worked under Ferguson, United currently have a manager who is desperate to overturn the club’s fortunes. The Norwegian is determined to bring the Red Devils back from the ashes so they can rise again.

A staunch United fan, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can relate to the fans. He understands the misery which comes with the club’s two rival sides in Manchester City and Liverpool dominating the Premier League. He knows things cannot remain the same.

And Solskjaer is desperate to change things with the addition of new signings. The current United squad is not good enough and reinforcements are well needed.

The Norwegian’s pursuit of Erling Haaland as a target man was well documented. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to land his compatriot with the wonderkid choosing to sign for Borussia Dortmund instead. 

Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been forced to look elsewhere in his pursuit to help Manchester United get back to the top.

And it seems in Paris Saint German’s Edinson Cavani, Solskjaer may have found a perfect candidate for the role.

The Uruguayan forward has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and according to the BBC Edinson Cavani has now asked to ‘leave’ the French outfit.

Cavani has fallen down the pecking order at PSG and he is now desperate for a new challenge. Old Trafford could be the perfect place for Edinson Cavani to revamp his career.
