Manchester United finally given boost to sign world class striker

Manchester United seem to have been given a boost to sign the unwanted world class striker and bring him to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on a long and arduous mission at Manchester United. The Norwegian is desperate to take the Red Devils back to where they belong. He wants United to break out of the shadows of their rivals Liverpool and Manchester City and return to the pinnacle of world football. He wants the Red Devils to be feared and to dominate games like they did under the club’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s mission is clear. The execution however has not been as smooth sailing. In all fairness some of the best managers in the world in Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have tried and failed and to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s credit he has done neither worse or better than the pair of them thus far.
The former United player is still early in his tenure at Old Trafford. He has only had one proper transfer window to work with and the squad is still under transition. It will take time for the United boss to get the team playing football in the way he has envisioned.
Time and of course a number of new additions to the squad more suited for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ambition than the current misfiring crop.
It is no secret that the Norwegian is trying to secure the services of a target man upfront for the Red Devils. Solskjaer failed with his attempts to bring Erling Haaland to the club earlier in the transfer window and now it seems he has moved to secure the services of Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint Germain instead.
And it seems Solskjaer may have been given a boost in his pursuit. According to Manchester Evening News via Playing for 90, Edinson Cavani will not be ‘renewing’ his contract with the club which is set to expire in the summer.
That will mean the Red Devils are free to make a contract offer for the world class striker even as early as January.
Edinson Cavani has been one of the most prolific forwards over the last decade and whilst he has fallen down the pecking order at Paris Saint Germain since the arrival of Mauro Icardi there is no doubt he could still be a fantastic addition at Old Trafford.
What do you think should Manchester United sign Edinson Cavani?
