5. Wayne Rooney bicycle kick vs. Manchester City (2011)

According to Sky Sports, Rooney regards this goal as his single most important goal for Manchester United. From a neutral perspective, Rooney’s overhead kick against City is one of pure class. The timing of the kick, as well as the cross, is nothing short of superb.

In a time where Sir Alex Ferguson dominated English football, this goal brings a sense of nostalgia to United supporters. At the time, United were perpetual title winners, as well as being a threatening force in the Champions League.

As always, anybody would be happy to score against a rival, but Rooney does so in fine fashion.
