Manchester United are in dire need of good news and they might finally have it. Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are close to returning from injury, according to Jose Mourinho.
Pogba and Zlatan are two of Manchester United’s most influential players. With the team still reeling from the defeat to Chelsea over the weekend this is great consolation news.
"“Pogba, Ibra, Rojo, Fellaini. They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position,” Mourinho told MUTV."
Manchester United’s performances have steadily declined since Pogba was injured nearly two months ago. The midfield is in shambles, but having the 24-year old back would break stability to the heart of the team.
The club was firing on all cylinders before Pogba’s injury. He was fulfilling his transfer fee and then some. His range of passing, shooting, and flair brought Old Trafford to its feet multiple times to start the season. It is a shame his great form was cut short by injury.
However, it looks as if Pogba could be back after the international break. He’s posted multiple videos to social media of his recovery — and of course some dancing as well.
Ibrahimovic tore his ACL last April, but has made remarkable progress in his recovery.

“I want everybody to have patience, and when I come back, the world will know,” said the Swedish striker in September. “Keep supporting me, have patience, and I will come back stronger than ever.”
The patience will soon be rewarded. Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals and provided 8 assists last year at the ripe age of 35. This season he’s 36, but one can only expect that he will still find a way to contribute.
Although Zlatan may not play the same amount as last season, he’s sure to be a leader in the dressing room and will find a way to impact the matches he features in. He’ll be a great alternative to Romelu Lukaku should the No. 9 need a rest.
Speaking of the Big Belgian, none will be happier for Pogba’s return than him. Lukaku’s form has taken a dramatic dip since the Frenchman’s injury. But the two’s chemistry on the pitch is evident, and Pogba’s return will bring the goals for Lukaku as well.
With two-world class players on the verge of comeback, Mourinho will certainly be please as well.
