Wayne Rooney: Romelu Lukaku perfect for Manchester United
Rooney is Manchester United’s leading goalscorer and has claimed that Lukaku fits in with what Mourinho is trying to do for the Red Devils.
If ever there was someone who knows all about Manchester United and all about scoring then it is Wayne Rooney. The now Everton man has blessed the player who went the other way in Romelu Lukaku when he spoke to talkSPORT.
“For that United side, he is the perfect player. He is powerful, quick and strong and he scores goals, so [he] certainly will improve that team.” said the England legend. The pair of players switched sides in perhaps the strangest deal between the two club’s in recent times.

Rooney’s fee was never disclosed to the public but it appears that Lukaku was brought in as a direct replacement to the man who scored many famous goals at Old Trafford. There’s a feeling of history repeating itself at Manchester United as another former Everton youngster comes to this Red Devils side with plenty yet to prove.
If recent games are anything to go by then Romelu will have no issues at United and may possibly have the opportunity to overtake Wayne’s goalscoring record. There were initial fears that the big Belgian had a release clause in his contract but the player himself was quick to dispel these rumours and commit to a long future with the Red Devils.
Rooney also reiterated his desire to go into management once he hangs up his boots and it’ll be interesting to see if he ever takes over Lukaku’s former club or even becomes a manager at Manchester United.
However, it’s highly unlikely as it seems that another United legend is slowly prepping himself for the club with Giggs keeping an eye should the spot ever become available at Old Trafford. Yet to have any serious management experience, Ryan has still been backed by none other than Sir Alex Ferguson for the huge role at hand.

Although Mourinho has never stayed at a club for an extended period of time, he’s been quick to state his desire of remaining Manchester United boss for a long time. It’ll be interesting to see how things develop over time but for now fans can enjoy Jose as boss, Lukaku as his go to man and Rooney reminiscing over his time at the club.
