According to Diario Gol, Manchester United have placed a £50million offer on Real Madrid’s superstar Marco Asensio.

Just when you thought Manchester United’s transfer business was over, Jose Mourinho makes a surprise bid for Real Madrid’s star Marco Asensio for a reported £50million.

It has been reported that the bid was submitted while enquiring about Asensio’s Welsh teammate Gareth Bale.

The 21-year-old Spanish International has proved himself to be a top player after scoring stunning goals in big games such as the games against FC Barcelona in the Super Cup Finals.

Marco Asensio is also making full use of his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence by filling his shoes and scoring two goals in just two league games.

His talents have certainly impressed Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho who is looking to win trophies which lead him to submit a £50million offer for the Spanish International.

Although Jose Mourinho has had an above average transfer window, I think it is highly unlikely that this transfer will go through.

Why I think that this transfer is unlikely to happen

The main reason being that Zinedine Zidane values Asensio too highly to let him go. Zidane also considers Marco Asensio as one for the future.

Asensio can also make huge impacts if he were to come on as a substitute.

“My intention is to continue with Madrid, claiming more playing time, with a goal to be a first team starter.”

Marco Asensio has come out and said that he plans on staying at Madrid while starting for     the first team. He told AS:

Another reason why I think that the possibility of this transfer going through is slim is due to the fact that we do not need another left-winger considering United already has three left-wingers who are fighting for their place.

Even if Jose Mourinho is serious in the transfer of Marco Asensio, he has to break the bank in order to pay for his transfer fees which includes a hefty fee of £74m for his release clause.
