Manchester United: Previewing the pre-season fixtures

Manchester United have arrived in the United States to start their 7 game pre-season tour. They will face the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and FC Barcelona.

Jose Mourinho will hope this pre-season is better than last years as the team only played 2 matches. This year the Reds have 7 games scheduled before the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid. They will also play 2 MLS teams as well as Valarenga and Sampordia. The opponent’s difficulty definitely has a wide range and will allow United to see all of its players.

Arriving in the United States, is Joel Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira. These youngsters will have an opportunity to impress Mourinho as their will be lots of rotation on this tour for the Red Devils. Romelu Lukaku will also join the squad once the deal is done and he is officially a United player.

United will play the LA Galaxy on the 16th of July and Real Salt Lake on the 18th of July. These clubs are in the middle of their seasons and will most likely not field their best players. This means United will get a lot of opportunities on goal and the scoreline could get large. These two matches should give the youngsters an opportunity.

The Red Devils will then play the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. This will be a true test for United as they will face Lionel Messi, Neymar, Gareth Bale, and Sergio Aguero. It will be a good opportunity for United to prepare for the season.

Then, United will return to Norway to face Valerenga in Oslo. The Norwegian club will host United and the Red Devils will use that game as a tune up as the season will be near. After that, the Reds will travel to Dublin, Ireland to face Sampordia in their final pre-season game.

Overall, it should be a good pre-season for United. The Reds will get plenty of minutes under their belt. The new signings will also be able to assimilate into the squad over the few weeks. Manchester United fans will be excited to see their squad back in action here soon.
