The stage has been set. Wembley awaits the arrival of the two best teams remaining in the competition. The English Football League (EFL) Cup final is set to be played on Sunday when Manchester United will lock horns with Southampton who reached the final after beating Liverpool in the Semi-final over two legs.

The Red Devils and the Saints enter as finalists with a chance to win the first trophy of the season up for grabs at the “Home of Football”. Despite siting on the sixth place in the Premier League and currently 15 points behind league leaders Chelsea, Manchester United are firm favourites to lift the EFL Cup. The United players would be looking to continue with their fabulous run of form as they have been beaten just once since October last year.

At the same time, Southampton have produced few moments of brilliance under the tutelage of new manager Claude Puel. Puel would be encouraging the Saint’s players to give it their all and hope for an upset on the big stage. The EFL Cup would certainly be a trophy the Southampton supporters would be proud of.
