With January fast disappearing we take a look at some possible transfer options for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

It’s fair to say that the Manchester United board haven’t been shy when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets. However the playing staff need a bit of refreshing.

Manchester United’s Recent Acquisitions

At  the halfway point in the season Mourinho’s summer acquisitions have generally been a success. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has exceeded expectations and the other three players have had a rollercoaster first few months at Manchester United.

Eric Bailly had a fantastic start to life at Manchester United and looked near the finished article, however a series of small injuries and a trip to AFCON has set him back a bit.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s rise to fan favourite has been the opposite of Bailly’s trajectory. It’s clearly taken the Armenian star a while to get to grips with the rigors of the Premier League, but he’s certainly made himself one of the first names on the teamsheet in recent weeks.

The world’s most expensive player has had a similar return to Old Trafford with a few questioning not only the £89.3m price tag, but also his overall ability. It has only been the reintroduction of Michael Carrick which has released Paul Pogba to be the player we know he can be. Fellani who started alongside the Frenchman had a noticeably stifling effect on Pogba.

With the here is suggestion that the playing staff could do with some additions, especially with the recent departure of Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton.
