Marcus Rashford should be a contender for the Ballon d'Or after netting a brilliant brace in Barcelona's 2-1 win over Newcastle United in the Champions League. That's how the football world have painted the English forward after his man-of-the-match performance at St James' Park.
Players always do well after leaving Manchester United is the new line the media have decided to go with. That's a hilarious stance that has only surfaced because Scott McTominay is shining at Napoli.
Man United vs The World - The Agenda is Clear

Rashford was actually majorly underperforming before his heroics on Thursday night. So much so, there was talk in Spain of Barca looking to terminate his loan early but that just doesn't fit the narrative the UK press want to tell regarding life post Old Trafford.
Are Manchester United in turmoil? Absolutely, but suggesting that every player who leaves the club goes onto better things is simply absurd, especially also trying to use Rashford as an example, a player who turned it on only when he was in the mood.
Alan Shearer has long called Rashford out for not playing to his potential and losing his smile. He blamed the player but his colleague Gary Lineker threw blame at United when the English striker joined Barca. Are we seeing the pattern here?
Rasmus Hojlund scored on his Napoli debut and suddenly rival fans were releasing TikToks explaining how United were always the problem. Alejandro Garnacho didn't even assist Moises Caicedo on his Chelsea debut in a 2-2 draw with Brentford but you'd have thought he was the reason the Blues took the lead given the response on social media.
United are damned if they, damned if they don't because once they get rid of players who pundits call "the problem" they are then put on blast once they do something positive elsewhere. Nobody takes into consideration that they are watching just one of many matches, particularly in the case of Rashford who isn't even a certain starter at Camp Nou.
Antony was another ex-Red Devil whom suddenly showcased his potential at Real Betis on loan last season. If anything, this speaks volumes of the standards of the respective league he has joined and the mentality of the player who failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford.
How recently offloaded United stars are REALLY faring
Nobody discusses those who falter after exiting the club because that wouldn't suit the story nor pile more misery on United. There has not been a single word regarding Antony's exploits since moving to Betis permanently, but he was lackluster in a 2-2 draw with Levante.
Rashford, before the double against Newcastle, had just one assist in four games across competitions.. He was putting in similar frustrating performances as that we saw throughout the latter stages of his United spell.
Garnacho came off the bench in the Chelsea draw with Brentford and did well for Caicedo's strike before he actually was caught napping for the Bees' last minute equaliser. Andre Onana was as mistake-prone as ever in a 1-0 loss to Fenerbahce and I don't know whether Fabrizio Romano's media team, @liveherewego were being sarcastic but they wrote "First game. First masterclass" after he made eight saves.
There's a clear agenda to make the Reds suffer even after they look to correct transfer mistakes that these media channels and rival fans called out. It's shameless given that the club are trying to find a way out of a mess created by a previous regime.
