Zlatan Ibrahimovic has explained why the favorite chant of his illustrious career was one bellowed out by Manchester United fans. The former Red Devils striker was a guest on Hot Ones where he delved into various topics reflecting on his playing career.
Ibrahimovic, 42, called time on his career in July, having turned out for the likes of United, PSG, AC Milan, Barcelona and Ajax. He quickly became a hero among the Old Trafford faithful and a debut goal in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth led to a chant he views as the favorite he heard during his playing days.
""I like the United one, the United one I had was crazy because when they started to sing it was my first game and I scored and they were like '6 foot 5, hard as f**k' and they kept going and I was like 'whoa this is something else'. They kept signing for 45 minutes and I was like listen I didn't even start to play my game yet.""Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Hot Ones)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic became a hero at Manchester United
Zlatan Ibrahimovic may not have spent too long at Manchester United but he was adored by fans because of his larger than life character and extraordinary talent. The prolific Swede bagged 28 goals and 10 assists in 46 games during his debut season with the club. That includes a brace in a 3-2 win over Southampton to help Jose Mourinho's Reds win the Carabao Cup.
Ibra was less influental during his second season with the Red Devils due to a cruciate ligament injury, only managing seven appearances. He still picked up one of just two European titles he won during his career as part of a United team that won the UEFA Europa League.
The iconic forward left in March 2018 and joined MLS side LA Galaxy with the club turning to Romelu Lukaku as his replacement. The 122-cap former Sweden international will forever be remembered fondly at Old Trafford and he equally shares affection with our fans.
