Report: Southampton could move for Manchester United winger
Southampton are reportedly interested in taking Amad Diallo on loan, according to Football Insider.
The Championship side are looking to bring the young Ivorian on a loan basis for the second half of the season to help boost their promotion chances. The Saints currently sit in 4th position under manager Russell Martin, and a move for Diallo could help their chances of an automatic promotion chase.
Dalton spent last season on loan at Sunderland and helped them finish in 6th place, agonising,y close to a play-off spot. He then returned to United with expectancy of playing a role under Erik Ten Hag, but so far that has been blighted with a serious knee injury that has kept him out until now.
Diallo is yet to make an impact on the first team at Old Trafford, but as far as standards on the right wing currently go, he could very well challenge for a spot in the team upon his comeback just as well as a loan move would do for him.
Red Devil Armada’s verdict:
Amad’s comeback trail could see him leave, but it would be an opportune time for him to stay at challenge for a starting spot against Antony and Pellistri. The latter has not has much of a look in as of lately given the limited opportunity to experiment under managerial pressure. However, with less games from now until the end of the season it may serve Diallo better to go out on loan to Southampton and play with less pressure and less scrutiny that the current team are facing.
