According to an exclusive report from 90min, Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 25, has been among the standout players in the ongoing 2023/24 Championship campaign. He has been the driving force in Leicester City’s push towards automatic promotion to the Premier League with 10 goals and 12 assists in 36 appearances. However, the Foxes may be forced to sell the creative midfielder—one of their top saleable assets—in the summer regardless of him being contracted until 2027.

90min states Dewsbury-Hall could be available for a cut-price £25m in the summer if Leicester City fails in their promotion bid. If they achieve top-flight promotion at the first time of asking, the Foxes could demand up to £40m. Either way, the player hopes to break into the England squad and has European ambitions, and his departure could help Leicester to balance the books after being recently charged with an alleged breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Brighton had a £20m bid for the 25-year-old midfielder rejected in January, and they would be prepared to sweeten their offer during the summer transfer window, the report adds.

Manchester United have a crucial transfer window on the horizon, and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to change the club’s transfer policy. He wants to focus on bringing in young talents who are either British or at the very least have top-flight experience, rather than stick with the Glazers’ policy of signing superstar names past their primes.

A central midfielder is at the top of the Red Devils’ summer transfer list as they seek a long-term partner for rising talent Kobbie Mainoo. The club could listen to offers for Casemiro at the end of the season, while there are uncertainty surrounding the futures of Christian Eriksen and Sofyan Amrabat at Old Trafford.

Red Devil Armada’s verdict:

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has been phenomenal for Leicester in the Championship, fits the billing perfectly at Man United. He is on an upward trajectory and aspires to play in the Premier League again.

The Red Devils have already contacted the Englishman’s camp over a possible swoop, and if Leicester fails to achieve promotion to the top flight, we could conclude a deal for around £25m—a steal for that price considering Dewsbury-Hall’s Premier League experience, versatility and high potential.
