According to a report from the Sun, Manchester United are set to launch a bid for Port Vale striker Baylee Dipepa.

Under new minority investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Red Devils are keen on improving the pool of young talents at the club and are keen on recruiting the highly-rated League One striker at the end of the season. A few weeks ago, Ratcliffe has vowed to find the ‘next Mbappe’.

Baylee Dipepa, 17, who graduated from Port Vale’s youth system, signed his first professional contract with the League One club until 2026 earlier this year in January. The teenager has impressed for Port Vale’s senior side, bagging two goals and as many assists in 20 matches across all competitions so far. He is also a goalscorer for England under-17s, netting thrice in two Euro qualifying matches against Northern Ireland and Hungary earlier this month.

Manchester United are eager to sign Dipepa ahead of their rivals, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe seeks to bring in the next Kylian Mbappe, rather than try to buy the Paris Saint-Germain superstar. The Sun adds that the Man United scouts have been instructed to be at the front of the queue for young, domestic talents, and Dipepa could be the first of many.

Red Devil Armada’s verdict:

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are expected to lead Manchester United into a new era, one which we hope brings us trophies, entertainment and joy as well as restores our status as the best club in England. One of Ratcliffe’s dreams for the club moving forward is trusting young talents and investing in them with high potential, rather than breaking the bank of readymade stars.

The Red Devils’ interest in signing Port Vale striker Baylee Dipepa shows that the new co-owners have already started working behind the scenes. A move to Man United from Port Vale would be a major step up in Dipepa’s career, providing the teenager with an exciting opportunity to showcase his talent in arguably the biggest league and fulfil his tremendous potential.

If the club are truly interested in the teenager, we must get the deal done as quickly as possible before our rivals start circling.
