Talks have taken place between Manchester United and Jadon Sancho for a possible loan deal involving Jadon Sancho.

The former Dortmund winger is closing in on a return on a loan basis for 6 months, as he looks to break away from Erik Ten Hag’s setup. Sancho has not played for United since August after a bust up with the Dutch manager.

The reported loan and salary fee is a low €3million, which is a stark comparison to the ‘United tax’ that teams charge the Red Devils. For context, Wout Weghorst’s loan fee last winter cost the same amount.

More news will come out in the next few days, but it is a big U turn from Borussia Dortmund, who did not even consider Sancho to be an option back in October.

Red Devil Armada’s verdict:

It is a move that fits both parties, as Sancho will not be getting a sniff of first team training under Ten Hag, let alone any game time. The squad is being thinned out in preparation for the second half of the season.

Once INEOS are at the helm and have had a better look at the club and the squad in particular, they can decide whether to keep Jadon Sancho on or sell him. Either United will be able to command a greater fee in the summer, or they will get a reinvigorated player in their ranks. It remains unlikely that Sancho will play under Ten Hag, but it is yet to be seen if the Dutchman will remain as manager come the end of season.
