After last weekend’s 2-0 win against Everton, Manchester United welcome the red side of Merseyside to Old Trafford in what is expected to be an electric fixture as per tradition.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes from the penalty spot secured a win and clean sheet for the Red Devils, but by no means delivered a convincing performance against a relegation battling side.

This weekend, United entertain one of the best sides in the British Isles, in one of their last North West derbies under the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool. After drawing 1-1 against Manchester City, the Kop find themselves embroiled in a three horse race for the Premier Leaguetitle with around 10 league games left to go.

This weekend’s clash is a change of scenery, where both teams will battle it out for a place in the semi finals of the FA Cup. It remains United’s only chance of silverware this season. The Red Devils have brushed past Wigan Athletic, Newport County and Nottingham Forest in the earlier rounds. The tie against the Kop presents one of their toughest games of the entire season with lots at stake, a year on from that chilling 7-0 loss to Klopp’s side.

Here is the expected lineup for Sunday’s clash:

André Onana has been featuring in the cup competitions for United, where he has been available, and is expected to start and face a mighty test against Liverpool’s attack.

Aaron Wan Bissaka could be in line for a much welcomed return to the side after an injury lay-off that has kept him out for several weeks.

Harry Maguire could also be in line for a return to the backline in a boost for Ten Hag’s side.

Raphael Varane has been the stalwart in defence in recent weeks and faces a sturdy test against some of the best attackers in the world.

Diogo Dalot is one of the first names of the team sheet and could switch flanks if Wan Bissaka starts at right back.

Kobbie Mainoo is expected to start in a tasty midfield battle for the young teenager in his early days as a Red Devil.

Casemiro has stuck next to the young man in recent times, and is expected to do so in the Sunday clash.

Alejandro Garnacho will pose as a big threat for United, granted he receives the ball in dangerous areas of the pitch.

Bruno Fernandes, opening scorer against Everton, will captain the side at Old Trafford, as they look to progress in the FA Cup.

Marcus Rashford also converted from the spot in the previous game. He will be itching to start in a familiar front four back to full strength.

Rasmus Højlund has been the missing piece in the last few games due to an injury, but he is back and should start in United’s final game before the international break.
