£50 million-rated Manchester United star on Barcelona and Juventus' radar: Reports
Manchester United have reportedly placed a modest £50 million price tag on Alejandro Garnacho amid interest from Barcelona and Juventus. The 20-year-old winger has just over three years left on his contract with the Reds. The Sun reports that the two European giants are monitoring the Argentina international.
Garnacho has made a fine start to the season with four goals and three assists in 10 games across competitions. He came off the bench in United's 3-3 draw against FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night (October 3).
That has been the story of the season for Garnacho thus far, not a regular starter with Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo often starting over him. He enjoyed an important role in Erik ten Hag's team throughout last season, registering 10 goals and five assists in 50 games across competitions.
Barcelona and Juventus keeping tabs on Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho
Garnacho's meteoric rise at Old Trafford was always going to lead to speculation over a potential move given United's concerning spell. Barca and Juve are looking at the former Atletico Madrid academy product.
It's claimed that Garnacho is attainable due to a frosty relationship with Ten Hag, stemming from a social media post several months ago. A £50 million fee is said to be the Red Devils' asking price which is surprisingly low given he's one of Europe's most exciting attacking talents.
Red Devil Armada Verdict
Manchester United CANNOT afford to lose Garnacho, especially at such a low fee and its worrying given the team's current form. He might be growing frustrated with his lack of a permanent starting role at Old Trafford but he and Kobbie Mainoo are the future of the club. Ten Hag is under pressure and a visit to Aston Villa could spell the end for the Dutchman. This could arguably help the Argentine regarding his desire to be an undisputed starter.
