Manchester United made a huge move for the future by convincing rising star JJ Gabriel to stay with the club.

Gabriel is 14 years old but has already played in Man United's U18 team, scoring three times in as many games. There's a reason why he's landed the nickname "Kid Messi." Gabriel has since posted an image in United training gear, which notably features the No. 95.

No United player has ever held the No. 95 shirt, and it's also the highest squad number given to a player at the club. How about that for a piece of history?

United certainly hope it's not the only record he sets at the club, and let's be honest, if he keeps that number and becomes a superstar, everyone will want the No. 95 shirt.

Man United finding a way to keep JJ Gabriel is a significant move for the future

There's a reason why so many top European clubs wanted to sign Gabriel. Being talented enough to play in the U18 team at 14 years old is already an incredible accomplishment, but to immediately start scoring goals and making it look easy? That's unheard of.

Gabriel is still a long way from becoming a first-team United player. For now, the key is to continue getting minutes on the pitch and improving his game.

He may not keep hold of the No. 95 shirt if and when his opportunity finally comes in the first team, but why not? It's a jersey number commonly seen in the NFL, not the Premier League, but that's exactly why it's the way to go. It's rare.

It's unfair to set expectations too high for Gabriel, and the nickname "Kid Messi" is almost setting him up to fail.

But there's no denying his talent and potential, and he has already made some United history with his record-setting squad number.
