Manchester United have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko amid a claim from a reputable Bundesliga-based journalist.
Sesko has become one of two forward targets to take the number nine spot in Ruben Amorim's team. The Slovenian frontman was on Arsenal's radar earlier this summer but the Gunners opted to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
The 22-year-old is one of Europe's most highly-admired strikers who has caught the eye at RB Leipzig. He is also wanted by Newcastle United but he appears to be yearning for an Old Trafford move.
Benjamin Sesko wants to join Man United
Norweigan journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft has given a stunning claim over Sesko's future and detailed the player's stance over a Premier League move. He wrote on X:
"Re: Sesko. He gets what he wants at Newcastle, but he wants Manchester United or as Coldplay says it: You get what you want, but not what you need."

This is massive news if true as United have already held talks with Sesko's entourage and have been in touch with Leipzig over a potential deal. Fabrizio Romano reporting for GiveMeSport has confirmed that the club have been in contact with the German outfit in the last 48 hours and a meeting could now take place.
How much could Sesko cost?

Romano reports that Sesko has a "gentleman's agreement" with Leipzig for the player to leave for a fee of around €70/80m fixed plus €5/10m in add-ons. This could be a golden opportunity for the club to swoop for one of Europe's hottest commodities.
Sesko is thought to earn €108,846 per week at Leipzig (per Capology) and Romano has said that any problem for United trying to sign him will come down to the Bundesliga side's valuation not the player's demands.
Newcastle felt frontrunners for the Slovenian because of Alexander Isak's intense links with Liverpool. But the player looks to be prioritising a move to Old Trafford where he'd reunite with former Red Bull sporting director Christopher Vivell.
Vivell, working as United's head of recruitment, is driving the club's move for the young forward. Ollie Watkins is an alternative but he seems desperate to land a player who has a huge ceiling and has been likened to Erling Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
