Manchester United have finally won three games in a row under Ruben Amorim following a superb 4-2 win over Brighton on Saturday. There were some nervy moments for the Reds but it was another performance that suggests Amorim is the man for the job.
Bryan Mbeumo grabbed a delightful brace while Matheus Cunha also netted his first goal for the club. The Brazilian hadn't been among the goals but he certainly has been in the thick of the action since arriving at Old Trafford.
The duo continue to wow United fans with excellent displays that are really promising alongside the growing Benjamin Sesko. It was the attacking pair whom Gary Lineker waxed lyrical about when analysing the Brighton win.
Mbeumo and Cunha 'not fazed in slightest'
Lineker applauded United's performance at Old Trafford and spoke highly of Mbeumo who has made a sensational start. He told Micah Richards and Alan Shearer on The Rest is Football Podcast:
“He’s really good, Mbeumo. I mean, he’s also, I suppose, the question mark again, someone that’s done consistently well at a club like Brentford – with all due respect – is to then jump to one of the giants in world football and be able to handle it. And he clearly can.”
Mbeumo became Brentford's talisman at the back end of his spell at the Gtech, replacing Ivan Toney as their main attacking threat. He thrived under Thomas Frank which is why some fans were concerned he may fancy a reunion with the Dane at Tottenham in the summer when negotiations were dragging.
Lineker added:
"It’s not fazed him in the slightest."
Mbeumo has now bagged five goals in 10 games for United which bodes well at the very start of the 26-year-old's Old Trafford career. He has the mentality we have long desired from wingers who arrive at one of the biggest club's in the world and falter.

The same can be said for Cunha who opened the scoring at Brighton with an excellent finish. He too was praised by Lineker:
“So, and I would say the same with Cunha. I mean, obviously, he’s got experience of Atletico in Madrid, which, you know, is obviously one of the big boys in Spain, but Manchester United is a little different.”
Cunha had come under slight criticism from the media and rival fans because of a lack of goal or assist before the weekend. But he has been a workhorse out on the left, and was arguably our best player against Liverpool in the 2-1 Anfield win.
