You've got to be kidding. This is surely what plenty of Manchester United fans must be thinking when it comes to left back Tyrell Malacia. Malacia was brought in to be the long-term replacement for injury-prone Luke Shaw, but things didn't go to plan there.
Instead, Malacia has also battled plenty of injuries in recent seasons and he has proven to be yet another failed signing by former Man United manager Erik Ten Hag. Malacia was loaned out to PSV Eindhoven last campaign.
There was a 10 million euros buy option for the Dutch side, which MUFC supporters optimistic things would come to fruition. Instead, Fabrizio Romano just confirmed that PSV will not trigger that option and Malacia is all set to return to the EPL side. This is the exact same situation that's going on with Jadon Sancho, with Ruben Amorim and Co. now scrambling to sell both players:

Tyrell Malacia will return to Man United after PSV has passed on the buy option
Now what? It's one thing that a club doesn't execute the buy option, but it's another when it's a team from the Eredivisie. The fact that clubs are showing no interest in permanent moves for failed United players only adds to the frustration of things overall this summer.
The hope was that Sancho would make a full-time move to Chelsea FC, but the Blues backed out of things going down that way too. Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce reportedly had interest in bringing Sancho to Turkey, but Romano recently reported that Jhon Duran is the new priority instead.
Both Sancho and Malacia could help raise funds for the club to go after a new striker, with Viktor Gyokeres being at the top of the wishlist for a lot of people. For now, however, things are clear as mud when it comes to the future for both players.
What we do know here is that both Malacia and Sancho aren't expected to play for United this upcoming season. If all goes to plan, they'll be sold and all parties can move on. Might more loan deals arrive instead, however? We hope not, but United's hands are a bit tied right now.
