Manchester United fans are demanding Diogo Dalot be sold following the dissapointing 1-1 draw away to Fulham. The Red Devils were the better side for most of the game until Ruben Amorim made several questionable substitutions.

The visitors took the lead through a Rodrigo Muniz own goal after Bryan Mbeumo sent a dangerous corner into the box. It had been awarded to the faultless Leny Yoro initially and would have been all the French defender deserved.

United capitulated soon after and allowed Fulham back into the game with Marco Silva's substiutions proving successful. He threw on Emile Smith Rowe and the former Arsenal attacker tidily put away an equaliser.

It means Amorim's men have just one point from their opening two games and the pressure is growing. While many of the Red Devils' players were dissapointing, Dalot has taken a huge amount of criticism online.

Dalot came on for Amad in the 52nd minute and was glaringly poor going forward and defensively. The Portuguese full-back lost possession six times, and was at fault for the Cottagers' equaliser.

The 26-year-old has been a regular in recent years and shown the right mentality to try and help United work their way out of a dismal period. But his ability has never quite managed to won all fans over and they voiced their concerns on X.

One fan wrote:

"No one's gonna gaslight me over Dalot."

Another said:

"Can't cross, can't defend, can't pass, can't play."

One fan joked:

"If you put Dalot's brain in a horse, he would bark."

While one supporter dubbed him useless:

"Nobody can ever gaslight me into thinking Dalot is good. Absolutely useless."

Dalot started in the season-opening defeat to Arsenal last weekend but was named on the bench for the Fulham game. Amorim wanted to use Amad's attacking threat but one has to question whether a wing-back role is the right one for the Ivorian.

Dalot may be a good professional and a player who...Cristiano Ronaldo has constantly spoken highly of. But he never fills you with confidence, and it feels like he isn't suitable for a wing-back role in Amorim's system.

It could prove difficult to offload the Portuguese full-back especially with just eight days left of the summer transfer window. But he should certainly be looking over his shoulder as that right wing-back position needs a better defensive option judging from his outing against Fulham.
