Marcos Alonso:

Another loan deal that is being discussed involves another player associated with Chelsea – this time formerly – as the Barcelona fullback could well be available. The Catalans look set to sign Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo, so offloading Alonso would be in the best interest of their finances.

His contract ends next summer, but United would be willing to offer a straight loan to the player according to reports. From the available options to Ten Hag, the former Chelsea player would bring the biggest wealth of experience having won the Champions League, Premier League, La Liga and multiple FA Cup trophies over his career.

His age (32 years old) is of concern given that positioning is a key feature in that position, which could often expose United knowing Alonso’s attacking tendencies from his playing time in the Premier League previously.
