With less than 12 days to go before Manchester United debuts in the Premier League this season, the team led by Erik Ten Hag is looking to continue strengthening to have a chance to compete for the title of Premier League champion. With the possible departures of Fred and Donny Van de Beek, United would free up several slots in midfield. The candidate is Leon Goretzka, the Bayern Munich player.

It is not the first time that the Red Devils want to obtain the services of the German player. Only this time, the English club will intensify its proposal to hire a player from the German national team. The only difference is that this time, Goretzka is not shaping up to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s starting midfielder, which will influence his decision to leave the club.

Manchester United are hoping to land Leon Goretzka

The value of the German is around 45 million, but the current Bundesliga champion will ask for a much higher price than estimated if any club wishes to hire Leon. Last season the ex-Schalke 04 played 40 games, scoring six goals and six assists through the Bundesliga, the Champions League, and the German Cup.

With the recent purchase of Mason Mount, United would be putting together a midfielder not only offensive but also defensive if they manage to close a deal for Goretzka. Ten Hag would find a formation to combine the offensive power of Mount and Bruno Fernandez, in addition to taking care of defense with Casemiro Y Goretzka.

In addition, having a player like Goretzka allows you to add a player in attack with a powerful long shot and who reaches the edge of the area to be able to finish plays when necessary.
