Inter Milan has opened the door for a potential summer transfer of Lautaro Martinez to Manchester United. According to Football Insider, the Italian giants are willing to sell the 25-year-old forward to raise funds for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Argentina international is reportedly available for around £70 million and has attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

Man United has identified Martinez as a possible alternative signing to Tottenham HotspursHarry Kane, who is valued at a steep £100 million by his current club. As reported earlier, Tottenham are demanding a fee of £100m for their star player, which many interested clubs may find hard to pay. In such a scenario, Martinez is seen as an ideal alternative to Kane by Man United.

Martinez is considered the “perfect forward” by coach Erik ten Hag for his high-intensity system. Other clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are also expected to make bids for Martinez in the summer window, as the Argentine striker has scored 21 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions this season.

Manchester United could sign Lautaro Martinez

Despite having a contract with Inter Milan until 2023, the forward has expressed his interest in playing in the Premier League. As a result, the Red Devils could potentially move for the ace if they cannot secure a deal for Kane or their primary target Victor Osimhen of Napoli. However, with interest from several clubs across Europe, it remains to be seen where Martinez will end up playing next season.

Inter’s decision to sell their superstar is part of the club’s effort to raise funds to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window. Man United, on the other hand, is looking to bolster its forward line as they will potentially be preparing for Champions League football next season.
