Bayern Munich set to battle Manchester United for strikers
Bayern Munich is on the lookout for a “new” Lewandowski in order to replace their centre-forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who currently occupies the position of nine for the team. According to Fichajes, the German club has set its sights on three top strikers who are currently performing at a high level and who have all been shortlisted by Manchester United as summer targets.
Bayern Munich join race to sign three Manchester United targets
The first candidate is Harry Kane, despite Tottenham Hotspur‘s refusal to sell him in recent months. Kane’s experience and current form make him an attractive option for both Bayern and United. However, the English striker comes with a hefty price tag of around €100 million, which the German club is reportedly not willing to meet. However, the Manchester Giants are evaluating the option but have clearly shown a preference for none other than Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker, who currently plays for Napoli, has been in top form, scoring 25 goals in 29 appearances for the Italian side. However, Napoli is unlikely to let him go easily, which could make his transfer in the summer complicated. Recent reports have suggested a price tag above €100 million to be a realistic expectation, and with both Bayern and Man United keen on his signature, the price tag is likely to increase.
The third candidate is Randal Kolo Muani, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt. Bayern Munich reportedly offered 80 million euros for the French striker, but the offer was rejected by the German club, who reportedly want around 100 million euros for him. Despite this, it is expected that Bayern Munich will continue to explore various options to secure his signing. Meanwhile, the Red Devils are keeping a close tab on his situation but are likely to prioritize Osimhen and Kane above the 24-year-old.
Bayern Munich is known for its history of success in both domestic and European competitions, and the club is always looking to strengthen its squad with top-quality players. Entering the market for any one of the three strikers mentioned would be significant competition for Erik ten Hag, but it remains to be seen if the German giants can reach an agreement with the respective clubs.
