Fifth priority- Right-back

This position would have been in the top two before the Winter World Cup. That was the time when Diogo Dalot had run into the ground and Aaron Wan-Bissaka barely got a look in.

A part of it was down to injuries, but also a nagging feeling that the latter’s attacking deficiencies would never make him a trusted Ten Hag option.

Since then, however, “Spider Wan” has transformed his prospects at the club. Now there is healthy competition between Dalot and Wan-Bissaka, with the latter arguably leading right now.

Still, if reports are to be believed, Ten Hag does fancy an upgrade to the RB position. Jeremie Frimpong links have refused to go away. It is likely that the move would happen only if Wan-Bissaka is sold (Dalot is in talks for a new contract). Either way, this is now a good problem to have for the club as Wan-Bissaka has rehabilitated his value with his performances even if he moves on.
