Third priority- Goalkeeper

This is the position which divides the fanbase the most. Realistically, the club will not buy a new goalkeeper this summer. Erik Ten Hag has backed David de Gea through all his troubles. However, it is clear that a team that wants to build from the back cannot have the Spaniard as its point of initiation.

Not only is David de Gea’s distribution lacking, his lack of command of his area regularly puts his defenders in trouble. Talks are underway for a new contract for De Gea in a move that would divide the fanbase.

However, in a squad that has more glaring holes, it is likely that seeking David de Gea’s replacement will have to wait.
