Manchester United targeting a new Turkish Gem

Nowadays, every club is alert for every unknown gem or a young star player to be the first one to buy or target the youngster, so they have qualified for their future. This is the case of Manchester United, who has its eyes put on a young footballer from Galatasaray, who could be the future of the club. The player’s name is Efe Akman, a Turkish 17-year-old midfielder.

He is currently developing his football at the Under-19 of Galatasaray, but he has also been training with the first team, and in a short period, due to his qualities, he will be upgraded to become part of the squad.

What are his stats this season?

In the current season, he has played a total of 14 games, between the Under 19 Super League, the UEFA Youth League, and the Turkish Cup. A downside of his performance is that he isn’t able to either score or give an assist in the 1.063 minutes he has played.

What are his best qualities?

First of all, his pass is his best attribute, being able to secure the ball with a font change to the other side of the pitch when it is necessary. Then he has good control of the ball, which means, that the ball doesn’t leave his foot which is very helpful when he has to dribble an opponent or conduct the attack of his team, without the chance of losing the ball.

But what reaches the attention of the Red Devils, is his speed to get out of the situation, and that short change of position when he is facing backward, to the opponent that is trying to steal the ball from him. Also, the space awareness he has is to always be alone at the moment of receiving the ball, so he can turn and continue progressing the attack.
