Scott McTominay has notified Manchester United of his desire of leaving the club this summer, and asked the Red Devils, to listen and consider any offer that comes to the table, as he is not a priority for Erik ten Hag. His market value is around €25M.
The Scottish player wants to leave the club because of the lack of minutes he has played in the last games. McTominay makes his way into the first team, under Jose Mourinho’s management, after being in the academy for over fifteen years. He consolidates himself as a starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s management.
Since his debut in the 16/17 season, Scott has managed to play a total of 140 premier league games, scoring 11 goals and giving only 3 assists in those games. Also, he has been involved in 37 games between the Champions League and Europa League, leaving only 2 goals and 1 assist.
Why he wants to leave Manchester United?
With the arrival of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, the former academy player has lost terrain not only because of the number of midfielders that integrate the first team but also, because the Dutch coach does not have him as a priority. This has a reason, every time the trio, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Eriksen are on the field, Manchester United has never lost a game, and considering that Ten Hag only uses three players in the midfield, Scott has lost his place also as the first option when making a substitute, because the regular choice of former Ajax coach is Fred.
What clubs are linked to the player?
There are several rumours about which clubs are the ones who want to make a deal with the defensive midfielder. Some of them have tried to purchase him in the past, such as Leeds United and Celtic. But Newcastle is the club that looks the strongest to make the deal with the Scottish player. This will not be the first attempt of the English club to purchase him.
