Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is in desperate need of an additional goalscorer as the over-reliance on Marcus Rashford is making life difficult at Old Trafford. The 25-year-old is the lead goalscorer for Red Devils with 27 goals and 9 assists in 46 appearances to his name this season. Unfortunately for the Dutch boss, the player with the second-highest goals this season is skipper Bruno Fernandes with 10 goals, proving the need for an additional goalscorer in his squad.

The former Ajax manager has made it his no. 1 priority to secure a new lead scorer in the summer transfer window with Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen being named the two favourites to land the role. However, Ten Hag hasn’t shut his door to potentially secure other strikers this summer with the likes of AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani all being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United eye Chelsea superstar on loan from Atleti

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Manchester side are planning on making a summer approach to secure Atletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix. The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Chelsea and while the Blues are struggling this season, the forward has impressed many.

Atletico Madrid are yet to finalize their decision regarding the future of the Portuguese international with Chelsea showing interest in making his loan move a permanent deal. However, with the London Giants yet to appoint a permanent manager for next season after the sacking of Graham Potter, both Felix and the club have their doubts.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag remains keen on signing a long-term solution for his lack of goalscorer problem and is strongly considering the possibility of adding a versatile forward like Felix to his squad.
