Premier League giants Manchester United have officially announced their travelling squad for the clash against La Liga outfits Real Betis in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
The Red Devils travel to the Estadio Benito Villamarin with a 3-goal advantage on aggregate with a 22-man squad for the clash on Thursday.
Manchester United inflicted a crushing defeat on Real Betis in the first leg at Old Trafford, thus cementing their chances of reaching the Europa League quarter-finals. Erik Ten Hag’s men just need to keep it tight at the back and take up a counter-attacking approach and that should see them through to the next round comfortably.
The humiliating defeat to Liverpool seemed a result of the stress accumulated from the thick run of games, United had to play, in fact, they remain the only team in Europe till now to play the maximum number of games. The draw against Southampton saw United minimize their chances of setting up a potential title challenge late in the season as The Reds are now 16 points short of league leaders Arsenal who have shown resiliency and consistency this season.
Real Betis are endeavouring hard for a UEFA Champions League spot for next season and their recent draw against Villarreal saw them fall a little out of their stride. The Verdiblancos still remain in firm contention to secure Champions League qualification for next season as they are only three points away from 4th-placed Real Sociedad in La Liga.
