According to a report from the UK-based newspaper Metro, Manchester United are rumouredly backing away from making an official approach for Harry Kane whose current goal tally stands at 20 in 27 Premier League games this season. The 29-year-old has been doing his job of goalscoring in an excellent fashion for quite some time now but he hasn’t been rewarded enough for his efforts all these years.

The last time Spurs won a title was 15 years back and that rules out a silverware in the name of England’s most prolific goalscorer Harry Kane after the likes of Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer. The gravity of the impact he has made with Spurs is still something overachieving and considering the teammates, he has had over time, the consistency which he maintained is much more commendable than any player, the Premier League have seen.

The Reds were confident to sign Harry Kane a few days back and have already included the player in their summer transfer plans but is yet to register a strong interest in the England International. The majority of Kane’s future lies in whether Spurs achieves Champions League football for next season or not. The Lily whites have gone out of the competition in this season’s instalment of the much coveted European league and that too failing to score in each of the legs against Serie A title holders AC Milan.

Kane has stayed loyal to the North London club since his childhood and recently broke their all-time top goalscoring record. If he doesn’t arrive at Old Trafford at the start of next season, United will move forward with other striker options in their list such as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen who is enjoying a stellar season as he leads the Partenopei to the Scudetto, Dusan Vlahovic who will aim to get out of Juventus following serious legal allegations directed at the club and Robert Lewandowski who can part of the exodus Barcelona may potentially face.
