Manchester United ready to bid for this Barcelona starlet

Premier League outfit Manchester United are reportedly interested in Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati and wants to secure him this summer.

According to a report from Catalan journalist Joan Fontes on Medium via The Sun, Ansu Fati is on the verge of exiting Barcelona amidst interest from several clubs around Europe including Manchester United. The Catalan giants are facing possible charges from Financial Fair Play this season and which will continue to the next one. They have transgressed past the salary limit set by LaLiga and now will open a flash sale to offload some of their big names.

Manchester United have already registered their interest in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong who was one of the first targets when new manager Erik Ten Hag took the reins at Old Trafford. The Reds are undergoing a revival since the appointment of the former Ajax manager and he looks set to be here for the long term. Apart from the necessary strengthening of the forward position, United will be keen to reinforce the midfield and give the likes of Casemiro, Marcel Sabitzer, Fred and Christian Eriksen a much more competitive atmosphere.

Ansu Fati, a fine product of La Masia has already made his International debut in Spanish colours under former Barca manager Luis Enrique and has the whole future ahead of him to shine. Only at 21 years of age, the Spaniard has shown attributes closer to players in their prime but Xavi hasn’t been able to churn the ingredients out of him. In fact, he has fallen out of favour among his Barcelona teammates as he remains unused in most of the games.

Manchester United knocked Barcelona out of the UEFA Europa League recently after a well-fought two legs. It is no doubt that the players are aware of The Red Devils’ potential in the upcoming years. Several players are on the target list for summer and Ansu Fati seems like a realistic one.
