Manchester United are keen on signing a new striker in the summer transfer window with Erik ten Hag looking at all options, be it a prolific striker or an upcoming talent.
The Red Devils are in great form across all competition, continuing on their path to achieving a remarkable quadruple this season. After beating Barcelona in the Europa League to reach the round-of-16 stage of the tournament, the Premier League giants defeated Newcastle in the finals of the Carabao Cup to win their first silverware in six years. Currently sitting third on the league table just 8 points behind leaders Arsenal, Ten Hag’s men are preparing to face West Ham next in the 5th round of the FA Cup.
While the in-form Marcus Rashford has found great success in taking over the striker’s role at Old Trafford, the Dutch boss knows the importance of having a prolific striker in his squad and is scouting the transfer market for a new signing.
Manchester United find a young alternative to Victor Osimhen
United have been strongly linked with a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who is currently the top-scorer in Serie A with 19 goals, helping his side sit 18 points ahead of everyone else at the top of the league table.
While the Nigerian striker will undoubtedly be the additional goalscorer Man United need, his hefty price tag along with Napoli’s reluctance to sell him could pose a huge threat to Ten Hag’s plans.
Fichajes report that United have found an alternative to Osimhen in RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko. The 19-year-old has been in great form this season scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists in 29 appearances. The youngster is confirmed to be joining RB Leipzig in July 2023, on a five-year contract for a reported €24 million transfer fee.
However, if United are keen on the youngster, he could potentially not make a single appearance for the German side before joining one of the biggest clubs in the world at 20 years of age.
