Manchester United are keen on signing reinforcements in the summer transfer window to bolster their current squad and with potential new owners ready to win fans over with big signings, many names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
One of the players linked for a long time is French international Marcus Thuram. The 25-year-old has a contract with Borussia Monchengladbach that expires in June 2023, and many reports claim that an exit is confirmed.
The centre-forward is one of the biggest bargains in the next transfer window as the soon-to-be free agent has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 14 goals in 23 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
Manchester United target nears Barcelona move
Mundo Deportivo report that Thuram’s agent has offered him to FC Barcelona as the La Liga giants have shown interest in the youngster for his versatility. Meanwhile, Chelsea have also been linked with the youngster during the January window while Paris Saint-Germain are also considering making a move.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have reportedly made Thuram an ideal signing as they view him as the perfect forward for Diego Simeone. In Italy, Inter Milan have also shown interest in the talented forward. United have been also known to be long-time admirers of the Frenchman as Erik ten Hag is keen on signing a new striker in the next transfer window.
While the Spanish media report that the player has been offered to Barca, the Catalan giants are currently struggling to restructure their wage bill to comply with the La Liga regulations. This could be the perfect opportunity for Ten Hag to convince his project to be far superior to Xavi’s especially after beating them in the Europa League last week.
