Barcelona former player and current manager Xavi provided a fitness update of his player ahead of Manchester United clash

Barcelona continued their formidable stride in La Liga as they restored their 8-point lead at the top of the table by winning 2-0 against relegation battlers Cadiz. Sergi Roberto and Robert Lewandowski were on the scoresheet as the Blaugranas keep on their position as the favourites to secure the Spanish league title for this season.

Speaking in the post match press conference after the match, Xavi talked about his side’s upcoming Man United clash at the fierce  Old Trafford which has lately become a fortress for The Reds.

The Spanish legend has used his strongest lineup most of the time this season and has denied any rest to players requiring it. The Barcelona team might finally be feeling the consequences of it as they have become weary after a thick run of games.

Xavi admitted in the press conference that his side is fatigued due to the recent run of games and he may face a dilemma in team selection away at Manchester this week.

According to a report from the Spanish news outlet MARCA, Xavi explained why he made six changes to his Barca side against Cadiz:

"“Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski played more minutes. I think they have been playing a lot of minutes, that’s why I made the changes”“The other day Pedri was injured and we can’t afford more injuries.“Let’s prepare for Thursday’s game from tomorrow and see how tired they are.”"

The 43-year-old Spanish manager will reassess things in the next few days though he is expected to take all available players for the trip to Manchester, a significant change in the starting lineup is inevitable.

Pedri and Gavi both will remain out of the Europa League clash as they are out with a injury and suspension respectively.
